Style and Mens Pyjamas

You are going to spend about a third of your life asleep or in or about the bedroom.   That’s about as much time as you spend in the office.  OK, so not as many people are going to see you there but those who do are probably people you want to look your best for.  It is worth putting time and effort into how you look because nobody likes a slob, particularly in the bedroom.

Of course, there are many options other than pyjamas for men to consider.  You may, like the actress, wear nothing more than a few drops of your favourite perfume or you may just wear whatever crumpled t-shirt that comes to hand.  But if you’re the sort of man who thinks about what he wears, you’ll realise that men’s pyjamas are an important part of your wardrobe.  And they are not just for sleepwear, they can also form a part of your regular loungewear too.

One great thing to remember about mens pyjamas are that they are flattering.  Mens pyjamas should be loose cut to maximise comfort while sleeping.  As the cut is, of course, unstructured, they hang loosely when you move around in them.  Now if you are in any way a little over your ideal weight or a little less toned than you should be,  they will conveniently camouflage these little failings.  On the other hand, if you are well built and muscular they will provide just enough of a hint of that physique to keep any observer interested.

Start off with some light cotton pyjamas in plain colours and simple patterns.  These are perfect for year round sleeping (use duvets and/or dressing gowns in winter) and can be mixed and matched for a relaxed look.  The combination of pyjama bottoms with a white t-shirt is a classic example.  Equally, a long pyjama jacket with a pair of boxers can be quite fetching.

If you want to expand your wardrobe consider some seasonal alternatives.  Add some heavy flannel pyjamas for winter.  Maybe look at some of the more modern designs of mens pyjamas for the summer – something in a shorts and t-shirts combination perhaps.

For a more sophisticated nightwear look, try some silk pyjamas.  They don’t just look good, they feel good too.  Indeed, after trying silk you may find yourself wearing silk pyjamas on a regular basis.  Properly accessorised they can be the basis of a most elegant but informal casual outfit for those days when you don’t feel like doing anything outside.

Consider a variety of colours and patterns – it’s always nice to ring the changes in your outfits.  Traditional plain colours and simple patterns usually work best but don’t be afraid to push them a little.  Red pyjamas may spice up your bed life a bit, so to speak.  Indeed, it may be worth discussing the matter of bedtime attire with those who share your bed.

Whatever you decide to wear, and however you decide to wear it, bear in mind that a man should always be well dressed.  For this reason alone, do not wear your pyjamas in public.  This unfortunate fashion trend has been limited to women so far and I would implore you not to even think of trying it.  It does not look good, ever.

i’m afraid we don’t do fleece pyjamas since we focus on natural fibres rather than mad made fibres – each to their own!
