Flannel Mens Pyjamas
Tradition and comfort come together in flannel pyjamas. Indeed, your first thought when you think of mens pyjamas is probably some old fifties style photo of a man in checked flannel pyjamas smoking a pipe. However, as with many traditions, this is one that is worth maintaining.
Flannel itself is ideal for a regular casual mens pyjamas. Normally made from a combination of either wool and cotton or cotton and synthetic fibre, it is a very soft and comfortable material. It is worth checking the exact make up of your flannel pyjamas as the wool and cotton combination is usually more comfortable. Flannelette is a similar soft material but made entirely from cotton. It too makes for comfy pjs.
While flannel pyjamas are very comfortable they are not as elegant as silk or satin pyjamas. They are most suited for relaxed loungewear and cosy sleepwear. There is an old-fashioned manly feel to flannel which allows most men can carry them off a plaid or tartan. With their solid homely feel, flannel pyjamas are best worn in a more traditional manner.
Flannel pyjamas in the heavier weights will become worn and comfortable with repeated washing and wearing and should fit and feel like a nice pair of old slippers – something they go with quite well. These heavier weights are particularly good for winter wear as they will keep you nice and warm. You can even get flannel footed pyjamas to ensure your toes are toasty too – and they’ll save you the need for slippers. Team them with a heavy old dressing gown and you can move about the house on even the iciest of winter mornings.
With pyjamas men should have a range of types to choose from and a pair or two of heavy old fashioned flannel pyjamas are a great standby for those cold days when the dreaded man-flu strikes. You can curl up in bed with a soothing drink and watch your favourite movie in them and you’ll be feeling better in no time. Why should women be the only ones to have pyjama days?
