Consider Mens Satin Pyjamas
Satin is not the obvious choice for men’s pyjamas but for the man looking for a compromise between functional everyday pyjamas and something more sensual, satin is a great choice. Satin has long been popular as a material for ladies pyjamas and intimate wear due to its combination of affordability and style. Satin looks very like silk as it has a similar shiny appearance and comes in a similar range of colours but being made from cheaper materials it is considerably more affordable.
Originally satin was woven from silk and silk satins are still available for those who want high end luxury satin fabrics. If you can afford it silk satin makes amazing sleepwear but like silk pyjamas it is expensive and needs a lot of care. Synthetic satins are far more common and have many advantages; including that they are much to easier to make, come in a wider range of colors, are easy to care for, and, of course, are considerably cheaper. The quality of synthetic satins can vary greatly so, if at all possible, try before you buy. However, by and large, man-made satins look and feel luxurious. For those who prefer to wear natural materials, there are satins woven from cotton, sometimes called sateen, and these have many of the advantages associated with ordinary cotton pyjamas.
Satin has been used for bedding for centuries because of its look and feel. Satin sheets look regal and luxurious while being incredibly comfortable to sleep in. Indeed, for the man who likes a coordinated bedroom look it is possible to coordinate his sheets, bedding and pyjamas. Indeed, he could go the whole way and incorporate satin curtains and soft-furnishings too! However, the shine of satin also makes a nice contrast with more traditional cotton bedding for those who like to mix it up a bit.
Satin pyjamas for men tend to come in more traditional styles. Being a luxury material it is perhaps better suited to more formal pyjamas, insofar as sleepwear can be formal. A traditional two piece pyjama suit is as good a place as any to start as it will combine comfort with familiar good looks. Something old fashioned with a nice suit-like look, lapels, and maybe a chest pocket would be appropriate. If that is two old fashioned then a more relaxed suit with less detail and short sleeves might be better. Of course, if you want to feel like a king while relaxing, a casual set of satin loungewear is the obvious choice.
Pyjamas offer men the chance to get away from the dull tones and colours they normally wear in their day to day life. Satin is easy to dye and print on so it comes in a wide range of colours and designs. Because of satin’s natural sheen it can be found in particularly bright and shiny colours. So for men who want a chance to experiment with loud colours that they would not wear in public, satin sleepwear offers some exciting alternatives. However, do bear in mind that overly loud sleepwear looks clownish rather than cool.
Satin has also, of course, long been a popular choice for female lingerie, intimate wear and sleepwear. It is both sensual to look at and to wear and at the same time it is very comfortable. We all know that women know a thing or two about clothes and dressing so we should take this as a vote of confidence in satin as lounge and sleep wear. So for the men who have doubts about the appropriateness of satin sleepwear, cast them aside and consider adding some mens pyjamas in satin to your nightwear wardrobe.
